Spring open-up · fall close-down

What you leave on the lawn in November decides how it looks in April.

A wet layer of matted leaves on fescue over winter does not compost politely. It seals out light and air, holds moisture against the crown, and by the time it thaws you have bare patches shaped exactly like the leaf pile. Fall cleanup is the least glamorous service we sell and it protects more lawn than anything else on this list. Spring is the other half — clearing out the winter debris, cutting the bed edges back in, and getting mulch down before the weeds start.

Seasonal Cleanup & Winterization

What you are actually paying for.

01

Leaves off the turf and out of the beds

Not blown into a corner to blow back. Cleared off the lawn, out of the bed interiors and away from the foundation.

02

Beds cut back and cleaned out

Spent perennials cut down, dead annuals pulled, bed lines re-cut so the yard has a clean shape going into winter.

03

Gutters and walks cleared of what we take down

What comes off the shrubs and beds does not get left on your drive. Everything blown off and hauled out.

04

Spring reset: edge, weed, mulch

The spring visit is the one that sets up the whole season — beds opened, edges cut, fresh mulch down before the first flush of weeds.

Also on the truck

One call covers the property.

Most of our customers book two or three of these together — it is cheaper than separate visits and it all gets done the same day.

Good to know

Seasonal Cleanup & Winterization — your questions.

When should fall cleanup happen?

The main cleanup wants to happen after the bulk of the leaves are down but before the first heavy wet snow packs them onto the turf — for Kansas City that is usually November. Properties with a lot of mature trees often want two passes rather than one late one.

What does winterization include?

Final cleanup and leaf removal, cutting back perennials, clearing beds and edges, protecting vulnerable plantings, and a last cut at the right height going into dormancy. If you have irrigation, get it blown out before a hard freeze — that is specialist work and we will point you to someone who does it.

Do you do spring cleanups too?

Yes, and it is one of our busiest jobs — it is what the review on our reviews page is about. Winter debris cleared, beds cleaned and re-edged, shrubs shaped, and mulch down to start the season clean.

Do you offer snow removal?

Not at this time. Our winter work is the cleanup and winterization that happens before the snow arrives.

That is the whole guarantee, and it is easy to stand behind when one person is accountable for every job.
