What we do, and why it is built this way.
Nick’s Outdoor Services is an owner-operated landscaping and hardscaping company working across the Kansas City metro. The work runs from the recurring — bed upkeep, aeration, spring and fall clean-ups — through to the projects that change what a property looks like: bed design and planting, mulch and river rock, natural stone borders, paver walkways and retaining walls.
What makes the work here specific is the ground. Kansas City clay compacts, sheds water and moves when it freezes, so the difference between landscaping that lasts and landscaping that looks good until March is almost entirely in the preparation — the base under a patio, the drainage behind a wall, the bed built to shed water rather than hold it. That is the part we do not shortcut, and it is the part you are actually paying for.
The other half of it is simply who turns up. Nick quotes the job and Nick does the job. Nothing is handed off to a crew you have never met, and nothing is priced by someone who has not stood in the yard.
